Many migrants who come to Germany fled from torture, sexual abuse, persecution and war.
Approximately 400 survivors of torture and war brutality find their way to the treatment center each year. They experienced unbearable pain and are severely traumatized and suffer greatly. The treatment center offers multi-professional support from social workers, physicians, and psychotherapists. Furthermore they offer counseling in the asylum process, German and computer courses as well as vocational training. The Berlin Center for Torture Victims has a department for adults as well as for children. The treatment center has an own research department to develop specialized therapy and treatment.
